Saint Brigid is one of Ireland's most beloved Saints.
 
To mark the return of spring on 1st of February, which is 'Lá Fhéile Bhride' - Saint Brigid's Feast Day, crosses of reeds are made to hang in homes across the land to protect them from fire and evil.
